Want to know more about SMS One Time Password? Read on ...

To provide a greater level of security and protection against online fraud, members will be required to register to SMS One Time Password (SMS OTP).

One Time Password is an extra level of security within Online Banking. The OTP is a unique code which is sent to your nominated mobile phone via SMS.

You will be prompted to request an SMS One Time Password for the following functions:

  • Transfer to a New Payee (to another account at The Mac, to an external account or BPAY)
  • Modify an existing Payee
  • Authorisation and Batch Request

The One Time Password creates a random temporary six digit code which is sent to your nominated mobile phone via SMS. The SMS OTP prompt will only occur when performing certain functions.

It is important that your mobile number is correct and always up to date.

If you don't have a mobile phone you can continue to use Online Banking, however your maximum daily Online Banking transaction limit will be $250.00.

Please contact The Mac on 1300 622 278 if you require any transactions to be processed which are above this limit.
